Knife Lounge is the alt-brand of Altonaer Silberwerkstatt, based in Hamburg, specializing in high-quality EDC (Everyday Carry) gear and knives. The owner partnered with Digital Masters to revitalize both brands and to develop a modern e-commerce platform. I had the privilege of collaborating on the rebranding of Knife Lounge alongside Patryk Hanik, and this project quickly became one of the highlights of my work in 2022.
Having recently become interested in the EDC culture, it was incredibly rewarding to work with a leading name in the German market for EDC products. Our goal was to elevate Knife Lounge’s brand identity, aligning it with its reputation for quality and expertise in the field, while appealing to a broader, lifestyle-focused audience. This project allowed us to create a fresh, impactful visual language that not only honored the craftsmanship and quality of Knife Lounge products but also resonated deeply with the community of EDC enthusiasts.
Typography
While Patryk designed the logo mark I focused on finding type that expressed both a modern feel while fitting in with the asthetics of EDC. We went through countless typefaces before finally deciding on Halyrd Display. I found this font to be particularly great. It is clean and concise, but looking at characters like "G" and the "&", it showed really nice personality.
